The Story of Wan Sao Long
Rooted in the Land, Refined in the Glass
A collaboration between PRU and Kosapan Distillery that turns a humble Thai herb into a refined spirit.
Some creations are born from inspiration; others, from deep respect for the land.
Wan Sao Long is both — a collaboration between PRU Restaurant, Phuket’s only restaurant awarded both a Michelin Star and a Michelin Green Star, and Kosapan Distillery, a Thai craft distiller celebrated for precision and sustainability. Together, they explore how Thai ingredients can be elevated into fine craftsmanship — not by imitation, but by respect.
The Collaborations
At its heart lies Wan Sao Long, a rare Thai herb from Pattalung long believed to bring charm and warmth. Beyond its folklore, the herb carries a calm, floral sweetness — an aroma that lingers softly like a familiar memory.
Through slow double distillation in French copper pot stills, Kosapan transforms this humble root into a refined spirit that bridges worlds: Thai soil and French technique, nature and artistry, belief and science.
The result is not just a drink, but an interpretation of terroir — the taste of Thai herbs and and craft distilled together.

PRU and Kosapan didn’t just create a spirit; they created a statement. That Thai ingredients, when treated with patience and respect, can be as refined and expressive as any in the world.
That innovation and tradition can coexist beautifully, as long as both start from the same ground — the land itself.
our tasting
The first sip opens with a cool herbal freshness, followed by gentle layers of spice and wood. It’s smooth yet complex, elegant yet grounded — a flavour that lingers quietly without needing to announce itself.
During our tasting, each glass carried its own voice — one bright, one deep, and one delicately floral. Every pour was paired with canapés created to echo the balance between land and craft, highlighting different notes of the spirit. Some bites lifted the herbal aroma, while others deepened the warmth of the finish.
It felt less like a tasting and more like a dialogue — between Thai herbs, craftsmanship, and time.
our thought
Wan Sao Long is more than a new Thai spirit; it’s a quiet celebration of what happens when belief meets skill, and when collaboration grows from shared values.
It’s best enjoyed slowly — with conversation, curiosity, and appreciation for the stories behind each sip.
Because sometimes, the finest flavours are the ones that don’t rush to be noticed.
If you believe that every sip can carry a story, Wan Sao Long is a tale worth tasting.
