Thinking about Osaka
most of us would have a picture of a street food area with many restaurants lined up. One of the famous menus has to be Takoyaki, a small ball of dough stuffed with hot grilled squid. Drizzled with succulent sauce, topped with thin slices of dried fish, originating from this city.

Tengoku (天国)
is a Japanese word meaning “heaven” that corresponds to the story of the outlet’s location, which is on the heaven side of the InterContinental Phuket Resort.

Chef Ice
Tengoku’s Head Chef, has recreated the charm of traditional Japanese food in Osaka flair. To combine with innovative culinary techniques using fresh ingredients expressed in a modern style yet simple to enjoy in this welcoming ambiance. For example, with the Takoyaki menu, he has produced such a distinct style that when it is presented, all appear differently but are pretty delicious.

The open kitchen
We like the open kitchen, in addition to the intriguing menu, which is shown here. The teppanyaki station is making a pan banging sound, while the grill station is emitting smoke. We can witness the cooks lovingly preparing the meal and placing it on a beautifully patterned dish, to the service and attention of the waiter and waitress.
They explain the outlet’s history and each menu in detail. We chose the Gourmet Set Menu for three courses, which contained an appetizer, main dish, and dessert for 850++ baht per person, which was very reasonable.
An Izakaya menu
for us we would prefer having it with sake pairing. There are over 15 different kinds of sake from various regions of Japan, all of which are ideally paired with each dish. It is a 5-star izakaya that has the Intercontinental brand assuring the best raw ingredients.
This outlet is a cozy and comfortable corner in a casual location where we can casually have drinks with friends and coworkers while enjoying various types of food after a long day at work.

Tengoku is open from Thursday to Monday from 18.00 –22.00 hrs. As there is a limited number of tables, but many customers here, advance booking is essential.
